Finance Assistant

Based in Sandwich, Kent

£26,000 - £28,000 Per Annum depending upon experience

9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

Temp to Perm role- Full time

Do you have experience using Sage software?

 

My client an established labour provider who specialise in providing top quality and highly skilled labour to the tunnelling, railway and construction industry are looking to recruit a Finance Assistant on a temporary basis. This opportunity will provide the right candidate with variety in their role which will mainly focus on the supporting the Finance department.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Inputting timesheet information into Excel spreadsheets weekly
    • Reconciling petty cash and credit card transactions
    • Executing weekly payment processes
    • Managing the purchase ordering system, identifying and advising on errors
    • Aiding in the creation of client invoices based on payroll and timesheet data
    • Conducting bank reconciliation in Excel and recording purchase invoices using Sage software
    • Compiling a comprehensive monthly financial transaction pack
    • Receiving and accurately allocating all receipts for payments
    • Verifying employee rates and resolving discrepancies, collaborating with the payroll department
    • Overseeing the administration of various accounts
    • Assisting with various financial aspects, including fuel cards, medicals, union subscriptions, dart charges, congestion charges, eye care vouchers, and company savings club
    • Participating in the management of purchase orders and stationary supplies.
    • Other accounting duties

 

Personal Specification

    • Must have previous experience in the use of Sage software
    • Experience in purchase orders and reconciling is a required skill for this role
    • Must have good communication skills
    • Ability to sift data accurately essential for the job
    • Knowledge of VAT rates and fiscal reporting would be highly advantageous
    • Must be self motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
