Trainee Installation Technician

Location – Staplehurst

Salary- £11.44 per hour

Hours - 40hrs per week plus ample overtime

Our client, headquartered in Staplehurst, Kent, is actively recruiting a Trainee Installation Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. This exciting position involves extensive travel abroad for ten months each year, with assignments in various countries such as Greece, America, and Australia. During your international assignments, the company covers your accommodation, and travel, and provides one meal per day.

 

Being a part of this well-established and rapidly growing company opens doors for endless progression opportunities for the right candidate. For the remaining months of the year, while based in the UK, you'll be stationed at the Staplehurst headquarters, actively involved in manufacturing the company's products.  This is a hands-on role, working as part of the installation team constructing our clients’ shielded rooms – use of hand tools/power tools required [tools will be supplied] You should be able to deliver high-quality workmanship and finishing, to tight tolerances & specifications [full training will be given]

 

Responsibilities for the role of Trainee Installation Technician

 

  •  Assist in all aspects of the installation sequence
  • To represent the company's core values and professionalism at customer sites
  • To assist with general duties at company headquarters during any periods between site installation 

 

Role specifications for the role of Trainee Installation Technician

 

  • Although the company is based in Kent, installation can be done anywhere including the US, Canada and Europe, there may be time required at company headquarters between installs
  • Must be a team-worker
  • Good communication skills are essential for this role
  • Full driving licence
  • Valid Passport
  • Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS
  • Flexibility to work extended/unsociable hours if required

 

Skills and Experience for the role of Trainee Installation Technician

 

  • Shop fitting experience
  • Sheet metal experience
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes or an engineering background
  • Good knowledge of current health & safety practices
  • Good organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise own workload well
  • Confidence, enthusiasm, self-motivation and determination
