Vehicle Technician 

Location - Sevenoaks, Kent

Salary – £15.00 - £21.00 per hour DOE

Hours – Alternate weekly 40 hour, day shifts from 6.00 am-2.30 pm and 2.00pm-10.30 pm, working Monday to Friday and a Saturday rota

Benefits - Sick pay, pension scheme and 30 days holiday (including bank holidays)

A prominent dealership in Kent is looking for an experienced Van Technician to join their team.

Responsibilities for the role of Vehicle Technician 

• Carry out the testing of vehicles and diagnose faults detected
• Recognise and report vehicle/component defects or symptoms of impending failure in line with company standards
• Service, adjust and repair vehicles/components to a high standard
• Complete job records accurately and promptly
• Order replacement parts and check stock holdings for requirements

Skills and specifications for the role of Vehicle Technician 

• Previous experience in mechanics (preferably heavy vehicle) is essential for this role
• Qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair (preferably heavy vehicle) e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 is a pre-requisite for the role
• Driving licence (preferably HGV), must be current and valid
• Will need to be computer literate for report authoring etc
• Must have the ability to work well under pressure
• Will need to be a team player
• Must have own tools
• Ability to use own initiative in important to the role
• Literacy and numeracy skills are a requirement
• Attention to detail is important, and thus candidates will need a good eye
• DAF trucks mechanical experience desirable
• Problem solving skills are highly desirable
