Location - Rochester

Salary – Highly competitive DOE

Hours – 8 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday but flexible on longer distance service calls

Our client is a well-established company that supplies their products worldwide they have been established for more than 39 years and are still growing, hence why they need a Service Manager to join the team.

A Day in the Life as a Service Manager

• As the Service Manager, you will take ownership of the sales service department leading a team of Service Engineers and team members
• You will be accountable for P&L management and looking for waste to curb wastage & shrinkage
• You will manage budgets/engineering resources with a strategic approach to developing additional revenue across service contracts, spares & consumables
• You will liaise with the sales team on new orders/installations provide estimates on logistics and allocate engineering resources to deliver a smooth profitable, but quality service
• Will be required to visit customer sites occasionally to nurture the client relationship and identify needs in services
• Regular service meetings with the engineers to keep up with current service visits or breakdowns and planning of solutions where required
• Over-the-phone technical support and log all service and breakdown requests received by phone, email or WhatsApp messaging for client issues
• Proactively seek out customer feedback and insights in order to progress client satisfaction metrics
• Preparing and sending quotes for service calls where necessary for existing and new business opportunities
• Planning of the works for our engineers, taking into consideration job urgency, location, travel time and skills and parts needed  
• Contact engineers daily to ascertain updates on the jobs given, and any works outstanding status and cleared jobs
• Maintaining the CRM database to include, job information and invoice details which are up to date
• Responsible for maintenance contract costings, ensure all maintenance contracts are up to date, send renewals when due and invoicing once agreed

Person specification for the role of Service Manager

• Will need a history in the manufacturing industry and experience with a proven track record of managing budgets across a Service function.
• Experience working with Multithread Weighers, VFFS, HFFS, Metal Detectors/Checkweighers preferable but not essential
• Must be a mechanically biased Engineer with experience in managing, mentoring, supporting, and leading a service and maintenance team
• Good understanding of industrial processes, manufacturing, and automated production within the food industry
• Passion for service and customer care is paramount
• Is proactive and able to resolve problems and challenges as they occur, with a can-do attitude
• Strong people management skills will be an essential skill set for the role
