Are you available for a temporary assignment for the next few months?

 

Painter

Location - Canterbury

Salary - £12.00 per hour

Hours - Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Temporary contract

 

Our client a large educational facility is looking to recruit a painter on a temporary basis.  The painter will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance of buildings and facilities through professional painting services. This role involves preparing surfaces, selecting appropriate paints and finishes, and applying them to various surfaces both interior and exterior. The ideal candidate will ensure all work meets high standards of quality and is completed in a timely and safe manner.

 

Duties and responsibilities for the role of Painter

 

  • Clean, sand, fill, and prime surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion. Repair any imperfections such as holes, cracks, and dents
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
  • Mix and match paints to achieve desired colours and finishes as per company standards
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper ventilation
  • Perform regular maintenance painting tasks and touch-ups as needed
  • Inspect and maintain painting equipment
  • Maintain inventory of paint supplies and order new materials as needed
  • Work with other facilities management team members to coordinate painting activities and ensure minimal disruption to operations
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project

 

Person specification for the role of Painter

 

  • Professional painting experience, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting
  • Proficient in various painting techniques, including brushing, rolling, and spraying. Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve high-quality finishes
  • Familiarity with different types of paints, stains, varnishes, and their appropriate applications. Understanding of safety practices and regulations related to painting
  • Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks
