This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a learning environment and is committed to fostering high-quality teaching and learner success.

About the Role

As a Skills Coach, you will be instrumental in guiding learners through their qualifications, particularly those undertaking RQF qualifications. Your role will involve providing guidance, monitoring progress, and ensuring learners meet their goals through effective support and assessments. You’ll also work closely with employer partners, helping learners develop essential skills for career success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learner Support: Provide induction, advice, and ongoing support for learners, answering questions, setting SMART goals, and reviewing progress.
  • Assessments and Records: Conduct assessments, track learner achievements, and maintain accurate records. Ensure work-based assessments are completed efficiently.
  • Workshops and Training Sessions: Deliver workshops, one-on-one sessions, and training that enhances learners’ skills and knowledge.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure assessments align with company policies, preparing for External Verifier (EV) visits as needed.
  • Employer and Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with employers, learners, and internal teams to keep all parties updated on progress and set action plans.

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant Experience: Prior experience in a skills coach or assessor role, ideally within the health and social care sector.
  • Strong Communication: Ability to build relationships with learners, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with employers.
  • Organisational Skills: Proficiency in managing a busy schedule, keeping meticulous records, and ensuring timely visits and reviews.
  • Commitment to Quality: A focus on high-quality delivery and a track record of supporting learners to achieve within agreed timelines.

Requirements

  • Evidence of CPD (at least 20 hours in the past 12 months)
  • Recent training in safeguarding and equality and diversity
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Right to work in the UK and proof of address

Why Join?

This role offers the chance to truly make a difference in learners’ lives. By helping them achieve their qualifications, you’ll play a key role in their professional development. Join a supportive team where your contributions will be valued and your commitment to learner success recognised.
