Salary: Competitive DOE
Location: Aylesford, Kent
Hours: 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

What is a Quality Technologist?


You will be responsible for daily quality activities, including sampling, testing, reporting, and releasing finished products and raw materials. Additionally, you will carry out pre-requisite site controls such as allergen monitoring, environmental monitoring, temperature and humidity checks, and pest control. You will also support document control, internal auditing, and quality-related training.

 

What to Expect?


• Flag analytical failures (OOS results) to the operational team
• Coordinate concession, pre-shipment samples, and urgent orders with customer support
• Manage packaging specification approvals
• Participate in GMP and hygiene audits
• Conduct weekly environmental and allergen swabs in production
• Support validation activities (allergen, homogeneity, cleaning, shelf-life)
• Maintain temperature and humidity records
• Verify batch documents and labels before production
• Collate analysis results and positively release finished products
• Assist with induction training for new production and quality staff
• Issue customer Certificates of Analysis based on results
• Coordinate finished product and raw material sample analysis with internal and external labs
• Manage customer premix monitoring, testing, and reporting

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
• Organised and methodical with strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Confident, assertive, and adaptable
• Able to work autonomously, take initiative, and investigate issues independently
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and resolve issues
• Self-starter who can prioritise tasks under tight deadlines
• A collaborative team player who shares knowledge and builds strong relationships
• IT proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Works well under pressure and adapts to shifting priorities
