What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to both the Planning and Packing Manager and the General Packhouse Manager, you’ll be pivotal in supporting compliance across the board and driving production performance. Your focus will be split between overseeing quality control and identifying opportunities to boost efficiency and reduce packaging waste. You'll also deputise for the Planning and Packing Manager as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct compliance checks on suppliers, growers, and customers
• Lead internal audits and manage pest control contracts
• Analyse customer complaints and nonconformance issues
• Prepare and circulate monthly performance reports
• Own GMP, hygiene checks and traceability documentation to BRCGS standards
• Support and mentor Production and QA teams to optimise output
• Drive packaging waste reduction initiatives
• Assist in team-building and departmental collaboration
• Deputise in production control, specification oversight, and print room database
• Maintain high hygiene and safety standards across the site
• Ensure strict adherence to company policies and health & safety regulations
About you:
• Positive, proactive, and adaptable mindset
• Experience in fresh produce or food manufacturing is essential
• Strong grasp of compliance, audits, and technical standards
• Knowledge of efficiency frameworks (LEAN preferred)
• Confident Excel user with sharp problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and time management abilities
• Level 2 Hygiene & Food Safety and HACCP required
KPIs include:
• Continuous improvement in key production metrics
• Timely and accurate completion of QA documentation
• Zero quality or labelling-related rejections
• Immediate escalation of intake issues
