Location: Rotherham (with travel across South Yorkshire and surrounding areas)
Salary: £33,487 (unqualified teacher/assessor) to £38,487 (qualified teacher/assessor) + benefits
Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week, all year round
Contract: Permanent
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Plumbing professional to join their Work-Based Learning team as an Apprenticeship Skills Tutor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to use their industry knowledge to support and develop future tradespeople.
Working with apprentices across a range of settings, you will deliver engaging learning experiences, conduct workplace assessments and progress reviews, and support learners in achieving their apprenticeship standards. You'll help apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by today's employers while building strong relationships with employer partners across the region.
This role combines practical industry expertise with coaching, mentoring and assessment responsibilities, making it ideal for an experienced plumber or gas engineer looking to move into education and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging training, coaching and mentoring sessions
- Conduct workplace assessments and progress reviews
- Support apprentices in achieving apprenticeship standards
- Monitor progress using e-portfolio systems
- Provide constructive feedback and development guidance
- Build effective relationships with employers and learners
- Maintain accurate learner records and documentation
- Support high-quality apprenticeship delivery
About You
- Industry experience within Plumbing and/or Gas Engineering
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade
- A1/V1 Assessor Award or willingness to work towards
- Level 5 Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good IT skills and experience using digital systems
- Passion for developing future industry talent
