Receipt & Distribution Operative

Location: Canterbury, Kent (and occasional work at other sites in East Kent)

Hours: Full-Time, Monday - Friday 

Salary: £12.60

Contract: Temporary

 

Join a trusted team delivering essential goods and equipment across multiple sites. This role supports a well-managed stock service, ensuring timely receipt, checking and distribution of items to clinical and support staff.

 

You’ll assist with reordering, stock put-away, and requisition processing via Electronic Demand Capture systems.

You’ll be based in Ashford, with occasional work at Canterbury, Margate, Dover & Folkestone.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Receiving, checking and distributing goods in line with procurement procedures
  • Using manual handling equipment (e.g. roll cages, pallet trucks)
  • Prioritising urgent and temperature-controlled deliveries
  • Supporting office tasks and data input for EDC systems
  • Processing returns and filing paperwork accurately
  • Using Purchasing and Finance IT systems for orders and enquiries
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and Manual Handling regulations
  • Collecting used instruments and topping up clinical area stock
  • Providing cover across other sites and assisting with stocktaking

 

You’ll need:

 

  • Good IT, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics or materials management (desirable)
  • Data input and analysis experience (desirable)
  • A good basic education (GCSE Maths & English or equivalent)
  • Customer service qualification (desirable)
  • A DBS within the last three years
