Student Achievement Tutor
Location: Bromley, London

Salary: £18.57

Hours: Part-time, 22 hrs per week

Contract Type: Temporary until 31/3/2026

 

Our client, a well-regarded further education provider, is seeking a dynamic and empathetic Student Achievement Tutor to join their pastoral support team. You’ll be part of a proactive and student-centred department, guiding learners across a diverse range of academic and personal journeys. From delivering impactful weekly tutorials to managing a pastoral caseload, you’ll provide essential support in safeguarding, careers guidance, and academic development.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver weekly group tutorials on safeguarding, study skills, social action, careers and more
  • Manage 13–17 tutorial groups (approx. 300 students) and monitor individual progress
  • Conduct one-to-ones, set SMART targets and identify progression routes
  • Collaborate with curriculum and support teams to deliver interventions, improve attendance and behaviour
  • Ensure completion of work experience, enrichment, stretch projects and careers benchmarks
  • Monitor and support vulnerable cohorts, referring to internal and external agencies where needed
  • Actively engage with parents/carers, attend reviews, and contribute to UCAS and destination planning

 

Desirable:

 

  • A relevant degree such as a degree in youth work or related field
  • Experience in Further Education or working with young people
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and multi-agency working
  • You’ll have experience supporting young people in education, a confident ability to lead tutorials, and an empathetic, calm approach to student welfare.
  • Enhanced DBS within the last three years
  • Strong communication and group facilitation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding
