Warehouse Supervisor

£23,400 Per annum


Permanent position

We have an exciting opportunity in Sittingbourne for a Warehouse Supervisor to work for one of our clients who is one of the UKs leading electronic waste collection and recycling specialists.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead a team of between 5-16 people effectively and efficiently enabling you to maximize productivity.

In this role you would be working 4 days on, 4 days off (2 days/2 nights) on a rolling 12-hour shift pattern. Our client is offering a salary of £23,4000 per annum (£12.95 per hour).

Key Duties

  • Manage the team on a day-to-day basis
  • Quality control
  • Manage the safe working practices of your team and for production levels and quality control on your shift.
  • Production targets are set and must be achieved
  • Manually work with your team at all times, leading by example and training in proper methods
  •  Ensure all operatives are following correct Health and Safety procedures and are wearing the correct PPE
  • Complete a shift report at the end of each day
  • Complete HR duties such as conduct one-to-ones with staff, approve holiday requests, induct and train new staff member (including temporary members of staff), support with disciplinary investigations and report any repetitive incidents of absenteeism, poor timekeeping, poor performance or misconduct issues to the Shift Supervisors

Personal Specification

  • Previous experience of leading a team or be ready to step up into a more senior role
  • Must have experience as a team leader or supervisor within a manufacturing or recycling environment. 
  • Proven ability to lead operations in your department and achieve production targets
  • Experience maintaining consistency in process and some experience of implementing new process
  • Must be computer literate (i.e. Excel, Access (training will be provided), Isys (training will be provided)
  • Ability to communicate data and information clearly and accurately
  • Have a Forklift Licence or willing to learn (training will be provided)
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and Environment legislation ideally gained in waste/metals industry
