£25.80 per hour (approx 1 year contract)


We’re looking for a Mechanical Facilities Engineer to join a team at a turbocharged power generator testing facility.

Working at a global leader in power generation technologies, this role will help to project manage the mechanical engineering team and guide them in prioritising projects and maintaining smooth ongoing operations.


The Mechanical Facilities Engineer will be responsible for:

Ensure that all equipment and systems are managed, maintained and upgraded to meet the project requirements of the team

Support customers with pipe connection adapter and rig design requests as well as guiding them through larger scale requests

Ensure operational efficiency and safety and report this within the business

Work with a team of highly skilled mechanical engineers to help them allocate resources across projects


The Mechanical Facilities Engineer will need to have:

College/university degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent, is required. Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s or Master’s degree highly desirable

Electrical qualification for LV design work. E.g 17th Edition wiring regulations

Five plus years of industry experience, preferably within a test environment


Although this is role is technical, it is also a project management role and you will require certain skills:

- Experience in material selection and manufacturing methods 

- Project Management - Establishing and maintaining the "Balanced Triangle" of Scope, Schedule and Resources for a temporary effort (a "project") 

- Use of quality tools to ensure high quality decision making - Measurement systems analysis, structured problem solving, fault tree analysis, risk assessment and process hazard analysis 

- A working knowledge of data acquisition and mechatronics is desirable 

- Previous experience of interpreting test procedures and methods 

- Working knowledge of HSE standards to ensure safe working practices (e.g. lifting equipment, ergonomics, hot working and working at heights) 

- Effective communication - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences 

- Managing complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
